About the event
As part of Newark Pride Fest 2026, Newark Pride is proud to partner with St. Clare’s Social Services for our annual Sakia Gunn Day of Service. This meaningful event honors Sakia’s legacy by supporting an organization dedicated to uplifting vulnerable LGBTQ+ youth and young adults throughout our community.
St. Clare’s provides critical services including homelessness prevention, transitional housing, food security programs, clothing assistance, and supportive resources that help LGBTQ+ individuals achieve stability and independence. During our visit, participants will engage in a Lunch & Learn with St. Clare’s staff and clients, creating space for education, dialogue, and shared understanding about the challenges facing LGBTQ+ youth today.
Together, we reaffirm our commitment to service, advocacy, and building a community where every person has the opportunity to thrive.
