For more than 21 years, Newark Pride, Inc. has championed advocacy, education, and celebration for Newark’s LGBTQ+ community. Inspired by the legacy of Sakia Gunn, a 15-year-old Black lesbian whose 2003 murder sparked a movement for change, we provide year-round programs focused on equity, empowerment, scholarships, mentorship, and community building.
